The Power of “I Can”

We don’t often take time to think about how what we are telling ourselves or others affects us. Have you ever had someone tell you you couldn’t do something only to find out years later that you really could do the activity? What if you were never told you couldn’t do things (unless they weren’t safe)? What would you be able to do? Perhaps you would have become an artist, a scientist, policeman, etc. Imagine what it would be like if you didn’t have an arm or a leg, or loss of sight what would you do? Would you sitting around watching everyone else have the fun because you have told yourself and believe that you can’t do anything else? What would happen if you did positive self talk and didn’t listen to any negativity? What would you accomplish or create?

The following is a story of a young man who from birth was given a positive outlook. The family learned how to modify things so that Ritchy Parker would be able to do things on his own. What a great inspiration to all of us.
